Our History
InterVarsity first began ministry at UTSA in the late 1980s and by God's grace has continued for several decades.
In 2016, through staff transitions and student graduations, our IV chapter was no longer on campus.
Then, through God's invitation and provision of a staff team and director who would continue the good work of building upon what had already been established, in 2017 we replanted ministry through the presence of LaFe, InterVarsity's Latino-student focused ministry.
Since the 80's, we've seen many students place their faith and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior (many for the first-time), chapter leaders graduate to become IV staff and kingdom-influencers in their workplaces, and students discipled with a global framework of justice and reconciliation.

UTSA InterVarsity: 2017-PresentIn the last three years of IV LaFe ministry at UTSA, we've seen over 15 students place their faith in Jesus, many for the first time. We tested and launched a national Latino-student evangelism tool to foster gospel conversations in a contextualized way that was then used by various campuses across the country. We've seen a regular communal study of God's word through 8 different small group bible studies. And we've had the opportunity to share countless conversations welcoming new students and sharing about the hope of Jesus.
